April 8^th - Day 10

Today was a good day.

We had a lovely walks up the beach this morning. It was such a contrast with home. Here, the beach is clean and sandy, and the Pacific is lovely and warm. We walked up to Maroochy, then had a coffee and walked back on the road. It was warm, but there was high cloud which kept the temperature down a bit.

When we got back to the unit, we went for a swim. I am not sure what was in the water, but it wasn't wonderful. What was good was seeing a solar halo for the first time.

For lunch, we drove up to the Sunshine Coast Brewery. It didn't look promising, being in the middle of an industrial estate, but inside it was a nice cool room; a bit barren, but OK. The food was excellent, both in quality and speed of service. And the beers! 10 beers, and though I did not try them all (I didn't fancy ginger or chili) and the porter did not work well, the Pale Ale was really good.

From there, we drove up to Montville. The road we took was a real twister! I kept thinking what a wonderful rally stage it would have been - right 2, left 2, left 2, right 2 for miles and miles. It was lush, green and darkly beautiful.

For dinner, I went to a craft beer bar. The beer was OK, but it wasn't really me, so I walked home. It was best summed up by the saxophonist who was busking outside - warm but melancholic.

And I have made a discovery. Australian firms must employ all the ugly women. There were none on the beach today, but loads out tonight

And the mystery of the tyres? It was a local holiday yesterday.
