• Wagga Wagga
• the Thirsty Crow (again)
A hot day in Wagga Wagga.
The hotel stops serving brekkie at 9, so I was up early today. And overall, I am glad. The temperature this afternoon was over 30C – too hot for me!
Wagga is pronounced “Wagga” not “Wogga”
Wagga Wagga is not a photogenic town. Unlike Bendigo, there is not much in the way or architecture. After a visit to the information centre, I walked up the main street which is pretty bland. After a coffee, I turned onto the riverside path. The Murrumbidgee River was low and sluggish – I overheard a local saying the river was as low as he had seen for a long time. I stopped at Wagga Beach, and even by 11:30, the sand was uncomfortably hot.

The Murrumbidgee River
The only thing I was taking pictures of was the water – the Murrumbidgee River and the Wollundry Lagoon. So, I went back to the welcoming wings of the Thirsty Crow for lunch, then back to the hotel. The room faces south, so I could sit in the room and read with the window wide open.
