Last night was the perfect antidote to crowded hotels – I was the only guest. It was nice being asked what time I would like breakfast set out for me.

After a substantial continental breakfast, I decided to avoid the tourist area and headed for North Tamborine. It was certainly non-tourist – it would have been great if I wanted to buy a car battery for example.

On my way back, I stopped at Curtis Falls. I think I am benefiting for the recent cyclone as the rivers are fuller. The walk down was interesting in that the trees changed from forest to rainforest as I went down to the fall. Climbing back up also taught me how humid rainforest can be.

Back to drop off the car then a walk to one of my set destinations. The beer at Fortitude brewery is just as good as I remember, so I spent a very happy few hours there.
