• Brisbane Town Hall
• Final shopping
Last night in Australia.
I can’t believe how fast time has gone. It seems so short a time since I was in the Blue Mountains. Here I am – trying to work out what to put in which suitcase, thinking about what I will need on the flight, is my iPod charged. Where has the time gone?
Back in Brisbane, it was time for souvenir shopping. I googled places, and one was the Town Hall. I went there and there was a most helpful lady serving. I bought two books (yes, more to carry!) One was a book about Aboriginal and Torres Island people, and the other was a book of poetry by the first Aboriginal poet to be published. Her verse is so moving. I only needed to read a couple of her poems to be hooked – look for “We Are Going” by Oodgeroo Noonuccal,
After coffee, I headed back to the cathedral for lunchtime communion. From there it was across the river to Sea Legs brewery, for some excellent beer. Then back to the hotel.
