No, I haven't come back to Suffolk. This Ipswich is in the outskirts of Brisbane.
Lazyish day. Late start, then the drive to Ipswich to see Rob and Ann. It was the usual grind down towards Brisbane, I have seen the Darren Lockyer Way more times than I want to.
Rob has a huge collection of fossils, which he was only too happy to show me. I tried to stay interested, but he went on a lot longer than I had hoped. Thank goodness for lunch. (Note - he is still the only person I have met to have a fossil named after himself)
For lunch, we went to Char'd. This is a steakhouse, which just happened to have a craft beer and cider bar attached. According to the beer menu, it had 72 beers, ales and ciders on tap. Even limiting myself to the English style ales, there was too much choice. It felt like being at a beer festival with 2 hours to drink. In the end, I only had 3 beers, which were all good. The food was good too. I had brisket in a mushroom and red wine sauce. It was delicious!
Back to Rob and Ann's for a cuppa, then home. I managed to get a picture of the distance sign, with Darwin over 3400km away. I need to put it on Facebook with a comment about distance to Ramsey. Home, the watching a movie.
