Moving on at last.
Church this morning. Appropriate to hear about Thomas at St Thomas's.
Took mum for a walk around the block. She did it, but it was a bit far for her. But she made it, which was good.
Then I moved on. Tony and Babs at the Bhurtpore Inn. Great food, great beer, great company. The Bhurtpore does an excellent beef burger with bacon and cheese. And of course there were the 7 beers I tried (and I didn't even get to the lunatic soup!)

The best reasons to visit the Bhurtpore!
It was a good day. I was dropped at Crewe and was coming down the stairs with a train in. Straight on, and in Manchester before 4 despite being dropped after 3.
What to do? Well, to explore Manchester. It has changed a bit in the city centre since I was a student here in 1985. Loads of new buildings, and a new buzz. I tried the Piccadilly Tap (poor beer) then went to the Port Street Beer House. A good range of good beers with 10% off for signing up to their newsletter. Puts them in at Whitehouse prices.
In Wetherspoons Piccadilly; good beer in plastic glasses. 'Nuff said.
